Frequently Asked Questions
Q:  How long should a home inspection take?
A:
A thorough home inspection takes an average of 3 to 4 hours depending on the size, age and condition of the home.

Q:   Why do I need a Home Inspection?
A:   Purchasing a home is one of the largest investments a family can make.  You want to  be sure that the home you want to buy is in good condition. A home inspection is an evaluation of a home’s condition by a trained professional.  During a home inspection, a qualified inspector takes an in-depth and impartial look at the property you plan to buy.

Q:   Should I be present during the Inspection?
A:   We recommend that you be present at the site of the inspection from start to finish.   We understand that your time is valuable.  We only require you to be present the last 45 minutes of the inspection to review the report.

Q:   How should I expect to receive the Inspection Report?
A:   We will provide your completed report to you with digital photos on a CD at the end of the inspection at the home site.  We can email the report to you upon request.

Q:   What should a Home Inspection cover?
A:   A Home Inspector should evaluate the following:

  • The physical condition: the structure, construction and mechanical systems.
  • Identify items that should be repaired or replaced.
  • Estimate the remaining useful life of the major systems (such as electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning), equipment, structure and finishes.

Q:  What if I have questions after the inspection:
A:   You can contact us and discuss anything about your Home Inspection whenever you like.   Our services to you are a long-term investment.
